King, a tan and white pit bull puppy, was only ten-months-old when an alligator snatched the dog up from the riverbank at Eagles Nest Park in West Orlando on Monday and dragged it back into the water. King was gone reported Orlandoclick.com.
The dog's owner, Eric Glover was in shock as he watched the disturbing event unfold.
"My boy, he turned around, came to me and he took off to run back again. The gator came out, snatched him in front of the bank here and took him in. And that was the end of it," Glover told the Orlando Click.
Glover said he had been playing fetch with his dogs, and they had also been chasing birds.
"I don't think he knew he was hit. It was that quick," Glover stated.
Trappers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation were out all day trying to catch the 11-foot gator. Children use that route to walk to school everyday. Parents are being warned to be careful. The trappers will be back on Tuesday morning.
Rest in peace King.
