The Allgood Music Festival and Campout is celebrating its 15th year in 2011 and today they announced a Jam-filled initial lineup of artists to help them out.
The West Virginia Festival, being held this year from July 14-17 will be headlined by Furthur featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. Lesh and Weir are, of course, members of the legendary Grateful Dead. For Furthur, they are joined by an all-star band including RatDog's Jeff Chimenti, Benevento-Russo Duo's Joe Russo, John Kadlecik from Dark Star Orchestra, and vocalists Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson.
Also heading up a night at Allgood 2011 are Primus. Coming to prominence in the 1990's with hits like "My Name is Mud", "John the Fisherman", and "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver", Primus are led by the always eclectic Les Claypool. Primus has recently reformed with a core band of Claypool, Larry LaLonde, and Jay Lane, who until the reformation of Primus was touring with Furthur. Primus has been selling out venues across the United States over the past year and is making a number of US Festival appearances in 2011.
Rounding out the headline acts are Electronic act Pretty Lights. Featuring DJ/Producer Derek Smith and drummer Adam Deitch, Pretty Lights has made waves on the US festival scene since their debut. The duo is riding a wave of sold out shows in 2009 and 2010 as well as well-received shows at Coachella, Glastonbury, and SXSW.
Also appearing at Allgood 2011 are some of the Jam scene's favorite acts including moe., Umphrey's McGee, John Butler Trio, Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams, Galactic, and Hot Buttered Rum. Also appearing will be Toots and the Maytalls, JJ Grey and Mofro, Big Gigantic, The Infamous Stringdusters, Papadosio, Toubab Krewe, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Everyone Orchestra, and Orgone.
Tickets to Allgood 2011 run from $139 to $420 depending on the package you get and can be purchased through the Allgood Website.
