“100 Startups in 100 Days” is an incredible undertaking by Neil St. Clair of Silicon Alley video news site, AlleyWire. AlleyWire tells stories of innovative people, companies, and events in New York, and presents these originally-reported videos in a professional, creative, and entertaining way. Past coverage includes a look at online marketplace CaterCow, an interview with the founders of HireArt, and an informative piece on affiliate software and service company NMRKT. AlleyWire has presented stories like these to a growing NYC and online audience for one year, and is now offering to feature innovative companies outside of the City—“100 Startups in 100 Days.”
100 startups will have the chance to present their product or service to potential investors, customers, and business partners in the most diverse and populous city in the country, and the largest financial center in the world. This could be an entrepreneur’s big break, and covering 100 companies (including 10 charitable organizations) in a little over three months would be a great achievement for AlleyWire. But they need your help. Neil has launched a Kickstarter campaign to secure more correspondents, videographers, and editors, and to travel to some of the startups’ locations. Pledges are $10-$2,500, and $25,000 is the goal. Without adequate backing, AlleyWire will continue to “inform and inspire” audiences, but will continue to have a local focus. Donations at the $75 level also receive two tickets to the company’s first-ever Innovater’s Gala (March 20th at Above Allen in the Thompson Hotel) with angel investors, venture capitalists, and representatives of the 100 startups present. Gifts at other levels include on-camera or behind-the-camera training, your own video, or an intimate dinner with select correspondents, startup founders, and members of the venture capital/angel community. Help AlleyWire bring innovative ideas to NYC by donating today!
