Actor and comedian Allen Rueckert known for his side splitting stand up comedy routines and more than a dozen movies (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2791767/?ref_=tt_cl_t3) has joined the documentary film project “The Amazing Akanas” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3391836/?ref_=nm_flmg_slf_1) for a very unique role. “The Amazing Akanas” is a documentary film of one of the most interesting and unique families in the world today, the Akana family. The Akana family, eight children ages 5 to 19 and their parents Roni and Stacy spend most of each year traveling the U.S.A. in their motor home to compete in and frequently win inline speed skating competitions. Despite their many obvious hardships this amazing family maintains a strong positive spirit and the children maintain high academic standards. The overriding goal of the Akanas is to bring their beloved sport of inline speed skating to the Olympic Games. Allen Rueckert will develop a specific and unique comedy routine focused on inline skating in general and the Akana family in particular to bring some comic relief to the overall project.

Allen Rueckert joins with teen actress Kari Irwin (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3006187/?ref_=tt_cl_t1) who is also with this project as Hostess. Allen and Kari first worked together on this comedy short entitled. “Allen Rueckert LIVE” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2053323/?ref_=nm_flmg_slf_2) .

“This is very exciting news. I’m proud of the many accomplishments of my family but even more I am hopeful that this kind of positive attention will ultimately benefit the thousands of superb athletes who love the sport of inline skating as much as we do. They all deserve recognition.” Stacy Akana

Most of the time and talent needed to complete this documentary is being provided without cost by the production company Q Films. However there are some unavoidable hard costs associated with any project of this scope and to address that the Akana family together with Q Films have established a crowd funding campaign with Go Fund Me to raise a modest but essential $5000. The campaign is doing well but is not yet at its goal. Please consider: www.gofundme.com/amazingakana.

The project is expected to be completed and released in early 2014. One objective is to use this film to garner the positive attention of television reality show producers. The addition of Allen Rueckert no doubt will help carry this project to the next level.
