Allen put St. Patty's Day thumping on Missouri

ALLEN, Texas -- With the  playoffs just around the corner the Allen Americans put together a strong 5-2 win over the Missouri Mavericks.

Allen is also chasing Central Hockey League history for the most points ever by an expansion franchise which is 87.

The Americans started quick outshooting Missouri 13-7 in the first period and led on a pair of goals courtesy of Nino Musitelli. Missouri did counter with one second period score.

Allen salted the game away early in the final period with goals from Bruce Graham and Colton Yellow Horn.

The regular season ends this weekend with a couple of games at Allen Event Center. Allen begin their playoff run next weekend.
