Allen McGee is off to a scorching start in the early going of the 2014 Slammer Tour.

McGee holds down the top ranking after he put together nine successful defenses.

Despite the crummy spring weather in the national capital region, the tour’s season is well under way with 16 Ottawa-area events in the books.

Players interested in joining the Slammer Tour should know that men and women players of all any skill level can register with the Ottawa-Gatineau region's fun and competitive match-play golf league.

“The tour is designed to let players compete with others of a similar skill level, and there is the opportunity to take on higher ranked players,” said Andy Rajhathy, vice-president of Executive Golf (ClubEG), the organization that conducts the Slammer Tour.

The Slammer Tour runs daily events at various courses across the region.

The week’s events are scheduled for the Canadian, Gatineau, Casselview, Whitetail, Edelweiss, Manderley and Buckingham.
