They are three of jazz's most prominent current stars and are called ACS (Allen/Carrington/Spalding). The trio consists of Geri Allen, Terri Lyne Carrington and Esperanza Spalding and they will perform at Segerstrom Center for the Arts' Samueli Theater on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 for two shows, 7:30 and 9:30pm. Samueli Theater is an intimate venue that seats 300. The location is 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.
Carrington is a drummer and Spalding is a bassist and both are Grammy Award winners. Spalding won the honor for Best New Artist which is the first time ever that award has been given to a jazz artist. Geri Allen is a pianist who has worked with Charlie Haden, Ron Carter and Tony Williams among others.
