As grow closer Allegiant's October 22nd release, the book’s author Veronica Roth has released two quotes from the book to give the fans some insight to the book.
At the Comic Con in San Diego, Roth announced that the final book of the trilogy would be from both Tris and Four’s perspective. This comes as no surprise since Roth has released a series of small stories from his point of view.
To get fans ready for the final book, Roth has released two quotes, one from each Tris and Four, and gives us a look and feel for the tone of the story.
The first quote came from Tris’s point of view, from Chapter 7
“We don’t know what happened out there since they put us in here, or how many generations have lived and died since they did. We could be the last people left.”
This quote is obviously talking about what we read at the end of the second book. They all learned that they were put there for some reason, but that reason is unknown. The quote doesn’t really offer any answer but merely just asks the question that we’ve been asking since we finished the book.
The second quote comes from Four point of view.
“Sometimes I still forget to look for her gentler parts of her. For so long all I saw was the strength, standing out like the wiry muscles in her arms or the black ink marking her collarbone with flight.”
We have seen just how much Tris means to Four and this quote is kind of an extension of that. Tris is very rough around the edges, but we have seen glimmers of when she can be soft. Particularly around her family and Four. My guess is that she tends to someone who is wounded. Perhaps Four himself or someone that she cares about.
If these two quotes didn’t get your more excited about the final book, the first of a series of short stories about Four's journey to Dauntless, was recently released entitled The Transfer.
