The Manti Te'o dead girlfriend hoax scandal continues, but Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the alleged miscreant in the scam is the new focus of attention, at least for now. Earlier, he was spotted at his family home in Palmdale, Calif., and with that, he got a visit from a world famous psychiatrist (video embedded) on Monday night.
Dr. Charles Sophy -- the so-called shrink to the stars -- was once a high-ranking official with the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services. Sophy's visit wasn't forced; it was Sophy's choice (pun intended).
Among the high-profile cases Sophy was involved in were the Michael Jackson child molestation case, the Paris Hilton panic attack case (when she was suffering from panic attacks during her 2007 jail term). He also counseled Taylor Armstrong ("Real Housewives of Beverly Hills").
On Monday night, TMZ caught Sophy at the Tuiasosopo family home in Palmdale, Calif., although he wouldn't confirm why he was visiting. The theory, though, is that his visit is somehow connected to the Manti Te'o hoax.
When asked if his visit was in connection to a TV show of some type, Sophy replied with "You know I can't discuss anything."
Ronaiah Tuiasosopo has yet to speak publicly about the hoax, but Manti Te'o said Tuiasosopo has already apologized on Twitter and called him privately, confessing to everything.
