The alleged murderer of Wichita Falls, Texas native Susan Miller Loper was extradited from Arizona to Texas Tuesday night.
Terrance Deering Black was scheduled for arraignment before a Texas judge today (Wednesday).
Terrance Black is now residing in a Collin County, Texas jail cell instead of his upscale $250,000 Frisco home.
Black dived off the South Rim of the Grand Canyon as law enforcement officials attempted to arrest him for the murder of the Wichita Falls Rider High School graduate.
Black was rescued by park rangers after he fell 25 feet below the rim of America's most famous canyon on April 22.
Plano Police had issued a warrant for his arrest only hours before he apparently drove his Escalade to the Grand Canyon and started panhandling.
Probably the most affluent panhandler in recent history, Black was evidently afraid to use credit cards for fear of being traced.
The time line of this tragic case began on April 19, when the talented Wichita Falls native Susan Miller Loper was reportedly abducted from the Gleneagles Country Club.
After high school, she had moved to New York City where she participated in off-Broadway plays.
Following a successful career in the Big Apple Ms. Loper moved to Plano, Texas, where she worked as a Pilates instructor for 16 years.
Ms. Loper was on the verge of opening her own business the week after her disappearance and murder.
Black has repeatedly tried to fight extradition through a series of hearings, but the Texas Attorney General's Office tired of the delaying tactics and requested his immediate extradition.
The State of Arizona co-operated and turned the fugitive over to Texas authorities Tuesday.
Black is being held on a $1 million bond.
The parents of Susan Miller Loper still reside in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Her best friend Marla Malone also still lives in Wichita Falls and was close with Ms. Loper since their high school days together at Rider High.
Plano police reportedly found Ms. Loper's body in an area not far from the Dallas North Tollway. Her Toyota Rav4 was tracked by authorities through a TollTag attached to her vehicle.
Black has worn a halo to all his court hearings in Flagstaff, Arizona, as he fought extradition to the Lone Star State for several months. Attorneys for Black argued against extradition, claiming health reasons related to his tumble down the canyon wall.
Sources told authorities Black had previously acted in a combative manner toward Ms. Loper, whom he reportedly dated in the past.
