Wednesday night, November 2nd, Allan Von will be celebrating his Sixth Anniversary - this night marks six years that Allan has been hosting his Wednesday night open mics at O'Riley's Billiards, Food, & Bar. Allan's weekly jam session holds the record for longest running open mic in Dallas.
To show their support, many local musicians who have played on these Wednesday nights will be back this week to share in the celebration. The party starts at 9 pm, and from that time until 2 am you can be sure that there will be a full night of music. Some of those expected to take the stage with Allan are Robinson Hall, Josh Goode, Jacob Guzman, Zach Braidwood, and Andrew James. There are quite a few more expected guests, and I am sure that there will be a few unexpected guests as well. O'Riley's is located at 8989 Forest Lane. There is no cover for this event, and drink specials will be offered.
Allan Von is also one of the members of the Beatles tribute band From Us To You , playing rhythm guitar and the harmonica, and singing the vocals of John Lennon. This band has been invited to be "The Official Beatles Tribute Band" for "Beatles Week 2012" in Liverpool. From Us To You plays regularly at O'Riley's on the first Thursday of every month.
