The Spirits of Mexico Festival, the oldest and most comprehensive agave spirits festival in the United States, returns this year to historic Old Town San Diego from September 11-18, 2011 with several events that showcase not only tequila but other spirits from Mexico (mezcal, bacanora), as well as the art, character and culture of our neighbor to the south.
Master distillers and blenders, authors, tequileras, tequileros, mixologists, aficionados and ambassadors of world-renown and new-to-market brands all convene at the location of California’s birthplace to share their skills, experience and, of course, their spirits! While the judging is done privately, the rest of the event is open to the public with several events that allow tequila fans to sample some of the best spirits (and food!) that Mexico has to offer.
