All-Star voting begins May 8th

Think Jose Abreu deserves a shot to be an All-Star as a rookie? What about ace Chris Sale with his blazing fastball? In just a matter of weeks you can do something about it. All-Star voting opens up around baseball on May 8th and ends June 18th. Speaking to MLB.com, Sox backstop Tyler Flowers handicapped the field of potential Pale Hose representatives:

"I definitely think there's a lot of guys on this team that if not now, than definitely in the future. I mean, obviously, a couple of them have the ability and have shown early in the season that it's definitely a possibility."

The list of Sox players that can be voted for include:

Jose Abreu (First base)
Adam Dunn (DH)
Alexie Ramirez (Shortstop)
Conor Gillaspie (Third base)
Tyler Flowers (Catcher)
Adam Eaton (Outfield)
Dayan Viciedo (Outfield)
Gordon Beckham (Second base)
Avisail Garcia (Outfield) *Injured

Fans who can’t make it out to the ballpark to vote can do it online up to 25 times for their favorite or most deserving players. Rosters for both squads will then be revealed during the weekend of July 5-6th.

The 2014 All-Star game goes down on July 15th from Target Field in Minneapolis. It will be the 85th game between the two leagues and the third time the state of Minnesota plays host. Catch all the action on the FOX network.
