Just like the rest of the country, the Sunset Strip is still on the Haiti relief train. Countless rock benefits for Haiti relief are still happening, but tonight the House of Blues has an amazing lineup which is bound to bring in a packed house.
Former Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien employee Andy Richter has found some work after NBC with hosting the venue’s Real Medicine for Haiti benefit. Tonight’s festivities will be acoustic performances from pop artists, rock bands, R&B singers and a DJ.
Recent Grammy winner Colbie Caillat is set to perform. Her heartwarming music is likely to create a vibe that will unify the audience. Her hits “Bubbly” and “Fallin’ for You” are likely to be on her set list, too. Golden Globe winner Ryan Bingham who was recently awarded for his original song in the highly acclaimed Jeff Bridges film “Crazy Heart” will be making an appearance as well. Joining him on the bill is “Blessed” singer Brett Dennen and singer/songwriter Kate Voegele. R&B singer Nikka Costa, most notably for her hit song “Everybody Got Their Something” is another big name. Her voice adds a deep soulful element to the concert that isn’t quite as present in the aforementioned artists’ voices. Five For Fighting singer John Ondrasik, Meiko, and a set by DJ Mayer Hawthorne is also scheduled.
The talent in the building tonight has the possibility of performing dynamic duets. The chance that they will occur is reason enough to venture downtown tonight, (besides Haiti of course). As the country has witnessed in the past month, group performances and duets are very popular during trying times.
The doors open at 7:00 and the festivities start at 8:00. Tickets are $25 and this concert is open to all ages. For ticket information follow this link and click Buy Tickets.
