The All-Star Gospel Brunch will take place Saturday, Feb. 16 during the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston, Texas. The All-Star Gospel Brunch honors NBA legends and players, NBA wives and mothers; sports figures, local pastors and community and national leaders.
This year’s honorees include journalist Roland Martin, NBA Player Tracy McGrady and his wife CleRenda McGrady and Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas. Five pastors from Houston will also be honored. They are Pastor A. Louis Patterson Jr., Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, Pastor Rudy Rasmus, Pastor Terrance H. Johnson and Pastor Reginald DeVaughn, Sr.
Pastor Paula White will serve as co-host with a yet to be named celebrity. Gospel recording artists Israel Houghton, James Fortune, Bryan Courtney Wilson and Alexis Spight are scheduled to perform.
In its eighth year, The All-Star Gospel Brunch, according to a press release, has brought, “national attention to the Christian Community in each city NBA All-Star Weekend has traveled, leaving a lasting impression on individuals who've attended these events.”
This year’s All-Star Gospel Celebration will be taped and is slated to be televised.
The event will benefits The HELPPPPing Hands Foundation, a non-profit organization that empowers abused and battered woman and underprivileged children.
