Today is National Lemonade Day. Yes, that is right, you read that correctly; August 20th is set aside for lemons and lemonade. (There is a national day of recognition for just about anything you can think of.) That tart yellow juice has made its way to a day all its own. Those lemons are made even better tasting with a little added sweetener and whatever else you want to add to it.
For me, vodka makes everything taste better. It is the liquid version of bacon; everything tastes better with vodka. Lemons, vodka and some sweetness mixed together is a great combination.
Now, this is not to say that I indulge more than I should on these national days. It is when I do that I am serious about what I drink, as are my friends who imbibe right along with me, on such happy occasions such as National Lemonade Day.
Well, a dear friend sent me some great lemonade drink recipes and since you are all my friends too, I am going to share them with you. There are so many plain and flavored vodkas to choose from; great brands like Skinnygirl, Gray Goose, Keetle One, Skyy, Absolut, Belvedere, Three Olive, Stoli or whatever your favorite vodka may be. These recipes are quite simple. So, go for it!
