"All American High" is a classic documentary about teen life that was originally shot in 1984 before cell phones, the internet and reality TV happened.

This year SXSW audiences will get a first look at what happened to that Class of '84 in "All American High Revisited" which makes its world premiere on Sunday, March 9 at SXSatellite: Marchesa.

Told through the eyes of a visiting foreign exchange student, the film presents an uncensored view of senior year in the era of big hair, punks and parachute pants.

Thirty years after they lived it, some of the film’s original subjects return in new interviews, revisiting one of the most memorable chapters in their lives.

The Hollywood Reporter called the original film “fascinating and insightful”, The New York Times described it as “vividly satiric”, and The Village Voice hailed it as “a laugh out loud documentary”.

Described as a "time capsule on film," the original was lost for the last three decades until it was recently rediscovered, restored and updated with new material.

Screening info:

Sunday, March 9th at 4:30pm
Wednesday, March 12th at 2:00pm
Marchesa Theater
