Alison Sweeney, host of “The Biggest Loser” made a huge announcement on January 21, 2014 when she was on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." After playing the role of Samantha "Sami" Brady on the long running NBC soap opera, "Days of Our Lives," Alison has decided it's time to leave the show, according to US Weekly.

Alison has been a regular cast member on “Day’s of Our Lives" since she was 16-years-old. Many faithful followers watched her grow up and many watch the show to see what she will do next. Then, in 2007, Alison added another job when she became the host for NBC's “The Biggest Loser.” Alison said that having a family and maintaining both jobs was beginning to be too much for her. Since she started on the popular soap opera, she has only had two weeks vacation time. That left her very little time to be with her own family.

When Alison was asked why she decided to quit “Day’s of Our Lives,” she responded, "My daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them and enjoy my last year. I'm going to be on Days all this year."

Alison admits that she doesn't know how or when her character will leave the show, but she has a few ideas on she wants her character to go out. According to US, she said, "I mean, it would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending, but then I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted like Breaking Bad ending, I don't know."

Alison will continue to host “The Biggest Loser” and she is a writer. Her first book “The Star Attraction” came out last year and she has started a follow up novel.

We wish her luck and happiness in her new venture after “Days of Our Lives.” Like sands in the hour glass, Alison will soon turn the hourglass around and start on a new journey.
