For 21 years, Alison Sweeney has been known as the scheming "Sami Brady." Her manipulative, yet intriguing character on 'Days of Our Lives' always kept her as a main story line. On Tuesday, Jan. 21, the actress revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that 2014 will be the last days of her life on the hit soap opera.

"I'm celebrating my 21st year … and I decided that it's going to be my last year with the show," she says. "I have worked so much, and my daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them," she adds.

An exact date for Sweeney's departure has not been set. She also says that she doesn't know what will become of Sami Brady.

"It would be awesome to have some kind of happy ending," she says. "But then, I also think Sami probably deserves some sort of very twisted, like Breaking Bad ending."

Sami began multi-tasking in 2007 when she was named the host of 'The Biggest Loser.' She says that she's never had more than a two-week vacation since joining Days in Jan. 1993.

"For seven years I've done both shows," she says. "I'm really just excited to be with my kids and be with my husband and, I don't know, have fun. And I write. My second book's coming out. I love directing and just, you know, finding things to do."

Sweeney was just 16 when she joined the show. Throughout the years, she became known for her failed relationships, and her vindictive ways. She tried to steal her sister's man Austin, and had an ongoing love/hate relationship with her partner-in-crime Lucas for years. Aside from Austin and Lucas, Sami found more drama and more dead-end relationships. As Salem's 'bad girl,' Sweeney picked up multiple awards.
