Eugene, Oregon has long been known to be pet friendly so it is no wonder why most align themselves against the powerful and largest humane society of the United States.  Eugeneites need to know an enemy to do battle with them, so view some of the power behind this society.  This information is essential to know to protect our pets, make correct decisions when donating money for the welfare of all animals and a general awareness too.

Some history according to http://www.activistcash.com permeates some of the thrust behind the world's largest and richest animal-rights organization.  John Goodwin joined the HSUS as a grassroots coordinator while bringing experience of a spokesman for, ALF, an underground terrorist group with him.  His statement fully explains his goal " My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture".

Could J.P. Goodwin be the catalyst behind outlandishly, dangerous developments the HSUS seems to be connected with anytime? http://www.ucdavis.gov  News and Information dated 4/20/97 states the crime he was apprehended for doing.  He was arrested and convicted in vandalizing fur retailers in many states in the 1990's and then gleefully said "we're ecstatic" when he spoke about Petaluma, California slaughterhouse arson in early 1997.  That event could have taken the lives of a family sleeping on the premises, however caused almost $1,000,000 damages, sparing the humans.  http://www.animalliberationfront.com  archives the awards that organization accepts with the activity they take credit for on their site.  Goodwin is employed by the powerful humane society we now know as international too.

As mobile as society is now, it is not far from Tennessee, (where JP Goodwin's home state was listed in 1997)  to California, UC Davis Primate Research Center.  Traveling  to Oregon or any place seems within the reach of animal rights activists.

Who decided to charge individual shelters 25K to review their rules, organizational skills and policies?  The HSUS does not even have a working shelter, so what makes them know anything about the working knowledge of an animal shelter facility? http://www.wikipedia.org Humane Society Of the United States charges from $ 4,000 to $ 20,000 a consultation fee to shelters and humane societies depending on the size of the agency and complexity of the programs.  Could the power of money be stirring the pot while the HSUS inspectors spend very little time at a Mississippi facility charging such a fee?  Soon after that inspection, a push was needed to find alternate living for numerous pets that were residing in that state.

Closer to home in Mt. Angel Oregon, ALF (Animal liberation front) released and abandoned 10,000 farm-raised mink animals.   In May 1997 4,000 unsuckled kits perished while survivors were terribly stressed from the ordeal.  Goodwin according to  http://www.furcommission.com requested a body count while the farming family. reporters, insurance adjusters and police counted the bodies and Goodwin conducted interviews to enhance his career.

Prior to the fall of 2000, Goodwin had tutored young people in the ways of traumatizing and vandalizing fur farms and the mink residents therein.  Two of the teens were arrested for those acts, then found with bomb makings in California a couple years later and arrested once again.

August 2000 Goodwin, a high school drop out decided society might not keep forgiving him, so changed his mode of operation by pursuing politics in campaign management.  It is now realized Rodney Coronado's goal of "an above the ground voice, a political lobby" and Goodwin's goal "the abolition of all animal agriculture" could be somehow reached.  The quote is from http://www.furcommission.com dated August 12, 2001.   http://www.agnetwork.com could direct you to Wayne Pacelle talking about Goodwin if you are inclined to be informed in that way. Look for a subsequent article on Wayne Pacelle in the future from this author.

Pet lovers in Eugene or anywhere are appalled at the fatal and poor treatment of animals caused by Goodwin, who claims to like dogs and all animals.  It is with this knowledge, we are better informed of the underlying dealings possible,  that surely can effect the voiceless and humans who care.  It is not only in the Eugene backyards that people live and care.  Information and education about all animal activities will tell you what to expect when you might least expect it.

It is not only in North Carolina,  as Pat Anthony "Charlotte Healthy Living Examiner" writes "  about a possible closing of a pet shelter that affects all pet lovers. Please read how you can help by viewing Pat's article " No Kill Animal Shelter May Be Forced To Close".    Newport, Oregon Lincoln County Animal Shelter feared that same obstacle two years ago as well, known by the author's personal knowledge.  Disbursement of dogs effects all pet lovers since their lives are in the hands of those who "rescue" them.

It is the dumping of animals by HSUS that over crowd already full shelters.  When inspections are done, the crunch of numbers of residents are counted and evaluated.  Take into consideration the power of HSUS affecting shore to shore animal shelters with the existing practices they follow.  Beyond the extra strain on the local shelters, a follow up of supportive funds Does Not Get Included from HSUS.  Call them at:  301- 258- 8276 to ask your personal questions.  Publicity from raids and inspections brings in donations from uninformed and unsuspecting people who don't know the direction of those funds which is Not helping the animals the HSUS has taken and then dumped.

Surprise of the unknowing cannot be the truth now that you have completely read this information about animals and the HSUS.  It is better to be aligned against the power of the Humane Society of the United States with how the battle will take place and who the foes are is helpful too.

The HSUS has never condoned illegal or violent activities done in the name of animal protection. John Goodwin did engage in some radical animal activism in his youth, something he completely renounced more than fifteen years ago. He is a good example of the way people can change for the better. Consider his work at the HSUS: John manages our animal fighting campaign and works closely with law enforcement agencies on investigations of this underground activity.

Our organization’s shelter evaluation program does charge its clients for the hard costs of having a team of experts conduct an on-site evaluation. However, HSUS staff members spend a considerable amount of unreimbursed time preparing the final report and providing

The HSUS is not affiliated with local shelters, but we do provide assistance in large-scale cruelty cases (dogfighting, puppy mills, hoarding, etc). In those situations, we often partner with another national group known as United Animal Nations to provide emergency sheltering for seized animals. Whenever possible, we coordinate with neighboring shelters to disburse some of the animals so the host shelter is not as overwhelmed.

Just realized my first comment was cut off. The end of it should read, "However, HSUS staff members spend a considerable amount of unreimbursed time preparing the final report and providing follow-up for the shelter. If this program wasn’t able to recoup any of its costs, it would not be sustainable. More information is available at animalsheltering-dot-org."

This type of information needs to be picked up by the mainstream press.

However, where any of the mainstream press has attempted to report the truth about HSUS deception, the story has been pulled after very few days and sometimes after only hours! Anyone ever wonder why?

My speculation is that with a yearly budget of between 120 and 130 million dollars per year, the HSUS could threaten to sue those news organizations. It would be irreleveant if the HSUS was found guilty (which it is) because the threat to appeal and to keep appealing until the news organization becomes bankrupt would be a very powerful reason to pull the story.

The HSUS is a very deceptive and corrupt money making organization and this type of information needs to be reported to protect the unsuspecting animal loving puplic.

WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH DOGS IN OREGON????? You are clearly a shill for the horrendous Animal Enterprise Institute, or some similar group of cretins. You don't care about animals, only about defending people who exploit them.

"mink residents"??? Don't you mean captives, prisoners, death row inmates?

"farming family... counted the bodies" - like they were beloved pets & were not going to be slaughtered for profit!

What is wrong with you????? You constantly defend animal abusers & exploiters, but anyone who defends & protects animals is an extremist. You're disgusting, corrupt, amoral, dishonest, manipulative, ugly, wrong.

WRITE ABOUT DOGS IN EUGENE OR SHUT UP.

JP Goodwin is still a pathology case. His comments about the Vick dogs and his involvement in/defense of the 2009 Wilkes County dog massacre demonstrate that beyond any doubt.

Hillary, any charity that hands over between one and two million dollars every year to telemarketers while charging shelters a hefty fee for services is not a charity at all.
