Alicia Keys performed a medley of her songs during the NBA All-Star Game halftime show in Houston at the Toyota Center on Feb. 17. During her most recent concert, one of many public performances this year, Keys shouted to her Texas audience to "celebrate life" by flashing the light from their mobile phones during the concert, according to YouTube.
During the half-hour break between basketball action, the 32-year-old New Yorker, clad all in black and rocking a bare midriff, took on such hits as "Girl on Fire," "New Day" and "Empire State of Mind."
A troupe of male dancers accompanied Alicia during some numbers while, during others, Keys was at her trusted piano.
This was especially evident during her deliver of "No One." The song from her 2007 "As I Am" album was met with a massive dose of crowd enthusiasm during the widely watched half-time show.
And so, as Alicia Keys took on the NBA All-Star game for 2013 during the halftime show in Houston, this solid performer was most definitely on fire once again this year.
To be sure, it's been a busy year for Keys who was equally popular in Houston as she was during a string of concerts performed earlier in 2013 that took this ace act to the Grammys in Hollywood, to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, and to Washington, D.C. for Barack Obama's second inauguration celebrations, to name just three stunning performances by the popular musician who was called Alicia Augello Cook when she was born.
