Alice in Wonderland theme for annual father daughter's Valentine's Day dance (Photos)

The City of Kennesaw's Valentine's Day dance is on Feb. 9, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at Ben Robertsons Community Center.

This year's annual theme will be Alice in Wonderland. In honor of the annual father-daughter dance the transformation will recreate scenes from the exciting tale

Guests will enjoy dancing and dining in an environment where not everything is what it appears to be.

Fun and trickery will keep everyone entertained. The tea-party setting will include "eat me" cookies and story themed fun.

"Mad Hatter," the evening's disc jokey, will be spinning the latest tunes for dancers to cut loose.

Dining will consist of an open buffet-style Italian dinner. Parties of 6 or more are encouraged to email Laurel Fleming, Special Events Coordinator at lfleming@kennesaw-ga.gov.

Photo opportunities will be available with Alice and the White Rabbit so make sure to bring your camera.

All adults must be accompanied by a child and all children must be in the company of an adult.

Tickets, which include dinner and dancing, are available online for $10 per person, children under two are free. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $15 per person but remember space is limited.

The annual event sponsored by the Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department is an exciting opportunity for lots of fun but more importantly will create memories that last a lifetime.

A PRAYER FOR FATHERS

Heavenly Father, through your love and guidance, help me be a caring and devoted father. Give me patience to listen with sincerity and wisdom to answer with truth. Help me not to insult that which is important to my child.

Grant us opportunities Lord for quality time. Help me always point to you. Let me teach courage in adversity and to learn from my child's simple faith.

Cause occasion to demonstrate respect for the elderly and those in authority. Give me the inspiration to forewarn my child of the world's evils and empty promises.

Thank you Lord for the mother of my child. Through our love may we guide our child to a loving mate someday.

Help me be a good example to other fathers.

May my entire family spend eternity with you through the gift of your son Jesus Christ.
