Alice Temperley’s runway show during London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013 was nothing short of fabulous at the Dorchester Hotel on Feb. 17 in London. According to a Feb. 17 Associated Press report, Temperley’s London Fashion Week FW 2013 collection is infused with Alfred Hitchcock; specifically the style of “The Birds” actress Tippi Hedren.
Temperley admitted to her obsession with the “romance and glamour” of old movies, and this love is displayed throughout her London Fashion Week runway collection from the full skirts to the swing coats, bejeweled evening wear and sheer tops. “It's from a bygone era, but we all secretly want to look like that,” Temperley said backstage after the show.
As with every Temperley collection, everything was elegant and classy. It is the perfect fall collection for everyone; royals to the everyday career woman and the chic jet setting diva. As for Temperley lover, Kate Middleton, the collection has her name all over it.
Tippi Hedren was a running theme that featured in the silk scarves wrapped around the neck, chic white dresses embellished with silver details and leather gloves on long slim hands. The fashion may be based on a bygone era, but there was nothing outdated about the collection. Temperley showed her flare for creativity by seamlessly meshing the past with what’s haute, in demand and current.
Simplicity, elegance and refreshing memories take the collection from the runway to the closets of waiting fashionistas.
