Alice In Chains announce spring tour; 2 tri-state area shows

After a short but thrilling headline slot on last summer's Uproar Festival, Seattle legends Alice In Chains have announced a spring 2014 tour that will skirt the very edges of the New York City region with shows in Atlantic City and the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Now well into their 8th year with new singer William DuVall, AIC remains one of rock music's most spectacular live bands thanks to their unmatched catalog of hit songs and spellbinding live musicianship. At Jones Beach last summer (see photos and read my review of Uproar '13 right here), the group grinded through a dozen songs that had the entire venue singing along to classics like Man In The Box, Rooster, and acoustic favorite Nutshell.

While it's a little disappointing that no NYC dates are included on the tour announced today, New Yorkers can consider this a great excuse to hit up the casino towns of Atlantic City and Mashantucket, CT, each roughly a 2-3 hour drive from Manhattan. With the AC show on Friday, May 9 and the Foxwoods date the next night on May 10, the weekend road trip practically plans itself.

Tickets for both shows go on sale this Friday, January 31, at 10am via Visit for more info, and as always, get monthly previews of New York concerts delivered right to your inbox by subscribing to the New York Hard Rock Examiner at the top of this page, or follow me at
