Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente have announced their second signing of the season, Argentine Alfredo Moreno who was part of the Apertura 2012 La Liga MX champions. Moreno is the second major signing the Aztec dogs have announced. Last week the team announced that Venezuelan Juan Arango would play with the team in the Apertura 2014 championship.

Moreno was also part of the Xolos team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores in 2013. “El chango,” as he is known by the fans, is the highest scoring active international player in La Liga MX with 141 goals in league play. Moreno has great goal scoring vision in the area, a good head shot and is great at recovering the ball.

The Argentine began his career with Estudiantes de Santiago de Estero in Argentina before migrating to Mexico. He has also won the Copa Libertadores on two occasions with Boca Juniors. His first championship was in 2000, then repeated in 2003.

Moreno arrives in Tijuana from Veracruz FC where he participated in 10 games but was not able to break the net. The 34 year-old has played in nine different Mexican league teams since 2000. Aside from his native Argentina, he has played in China and Russia.

The former Boca Juniors player has two Copa Libertadores titles with the Xeneizes. He also won the Argentine Apertura 2000 title with the club. In Mexico he helped his new team Club Tijuana win the Apertura 2012, the team’s first title in their second year in La Liga MX.

Juan Arango joins Xolos

The Aztec dogs have also signed Juan Arango, a Venezuelan player who is no stranger to La Liga MX. The 34 year-old player arrives from German side Borussia Monchengladbach where he scored 25 goals in 154 games. He played for La Liga side RCD Mallorca from 2004-09 and scored 45 goals in 183 games. He has experience in Mexico having played with Puebla FC, CF Pachuca, and CF Monterrey. In Mexico he broke the net on 30 occasions.
