The on-again, off-again relaunch of the storied Italian automaker Alfa Romeo, itself a division of Fiat, is once again being delayed. The vehicle that will usher in the next chapter is the Alfa Romeo 4C, a sports car positioned to compete with the likes of the Porsche Cayman, is now due to arrive on our shores in the second quarter of next year.
This is according to a report from the Detroit Free Press, and there wasn't a reason given for the delay. Previously, it was revealed that the baby 8C was going to debut in December of this year, also to be sold at Fiat dealers. Not only is this a blow for auto enthusiasts and potential buyers, this is also a major blow to Fiat dealers, as they have been waiting for fresh product to sell in their showrooms. Currently, they only have to offer various iterations of the Fiat 500, as well as the five-door 500L, which was released last year.
Will Alfa make good on the newest release date? Only time will tell, but since both a Chrysler and Fiat spokesperson both confirmed the date, then this is the most concrete date that we have received thus far. Stay tuned for breaking updates...
