The versatile Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly on the verge of joining Premier League giants Arsenal F.C

This comes after a report from Goal.com claimed that the Chilean had agreed personal terms and was set to jet into London to complete his medical today.

Sanchez is set to be have cost Arsenal between 30-40 million pounds.

The official announcement of the signing is supposed to come out within 24 hours of the medical, as Frenchman Debuchy is also reported to be unveiled. The official announcement of the player's arrival may come during the unveiling of Arsenal's new Puma kit, to be used for the upcoming season.

It is also said, via Goal.com, that Arsene Wenger had spent a lot of time over the past week trying to convince Sanchez to join the Gunners instead of Italian Giants Juventus and Premier League runner ups- Liverpool F.C.

Wenger is reported to have done this because he believes the soon to be Arsenal player can develop into a center forward, a position in which he has excelled in during his time with the Chile national team.

It should be noted that Sanchez will be the second major signing that Arsene Wenger has made, with Mesut Ozil being the first.

During his time in Barcelona, Sanchez made approximately 88 appearances and scored 39 goals. Before his time with Barcelona, Sanchez plied his trade with Italian side Udinese. There he managed to score 20 goals in in 95 appearances.

Arsenal fans should be excited by this signing as Sanchez is considered one of the best players in the world, and if he is developed well by Wenger then Sanchez can truly aid Arsenal in capturing more titles.
