First, it was sports, with the Brooklyn Nets, then a prestigious awards show, the MTV Video Music Awards, then it was a variety of music festivals, such as: Afro Punk, and not to forget, even art with the shenanigans of artist, Banksy, now unsurprisingly, New York Fashion Week is coming to Brooklyn!
American designer and creative director at Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, is bringing his Fall/Winter 2014 presentation to the Duggal Greenhouse, located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Originally, his fashion presentation was prepared to show at Manhattan's, Pier 94, however, Wang expressed a extreme interest in the distinctiveness of the Brooklyn space, which inspired the move of his presentation. Not to be confused with Fashion Week Brooklyn, taking place through March 13-16. Yes, Brooklyn does has a exclusive fashion week. Alexander Wang's presentation is set for February 8th at 8:30 pm, during the anticipated, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week [NYFW] (February 6-13), which takes places usually in Manhattan's Lincoln Center. It's no surprise if other designers will follow in Wang's footsteps, if not already, with the current trendy rise of Brooklyn, in the words of Brooklyn's own, Notorious BIG, "if you don't know now you know" - we have a feeling, Brooklyn in 2014 will be the place to be.
