True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard has no problem with the series' many nude sex scenes, because he works out "all the time," says co-star Kristen Bauer.
Bauer, 36, who plays vampire Pam on True Blood, says the strapping 6'4" Skarsgård often hits the gym in the middle of the day to exercise when he has time.
ALEX HITS THE GYM MIDDAY
"Alexander Skarsgård runs to the gym in the middle of the day if we have a long break," Kristen tells PopEater. And let me tell you, Joe [Manganiello] works out hard."
Being an actress in looks-obsessed Hollywood, Bauer is resigned to the realization that she has to diet all the time to look skinny on-camera.
'MY DIET SECRET IS HUNGER'
"The other day I realized as long as I'm in this business, I'm going to be hungry," she says. "The camera really does add 10 pounds. I'm trying to stay under the weight I want to look like on TV. It's a good incentive to stay slim and is probably adding years to my life."
Bauer, who's a vegetarian says she works out and diets extra hard after wardrobe fittings. "I'm vegetarian, so I live on carbs, but it's always an effort [to be thin]," she tells MovieLine. "After any wardrobe fitting, I hit the gym three times more than the week before."
She adds: "I don't want to be one of those actresses who says, 'I eat cheeseburgers all the time,' I don't! I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables."
Bauer sometimes envies her male co-stars because they're trying to gain weight, so they can eat liberally. "Alex and Joe, they’re trying to add size, but we’re all working out like crazy and have diets," she says. "Skarsgård seems to be the only one that works out a lot and eats a lot and does fine."
'EVERYONE WORKS OUT ALL THE TIME'
In addition to his Nordic good looks and athletic build, Alexander, 33, is great as bad-boy vampire Eric Northman because he really does have a devil-may-care attitude about nudity, says Karen.
"Alex could care less [about being naked]," she laughs. "But he still has to work out all the time, like everyone on the show."
The third season of True Blood airs Sundays on HBO. (check out Alex's sizzling shower scene in the 2002 Swedish film Hundtricket)
