Even though True Blood is on hiatus until June, Alexander Skarsgard has still kept himself busy from the looks of things. The handsome actor's new film will open the 28th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Skarsgard is likely to be in attendance (Deadline, Jan 2). The film explores the emotional detachment that results from the very products and devices meant to bring people together. The film also stars Jason Bateman, Paula Patton Max Thieriot, and Frank Grillo.
Skarsgard's other project "The East" will show at The Sundance Film Festival on Jan 20. The film tells the story of an intelligence agent assigned to go under cover to infiltrate an anarchist group, she is eventually torn between her real life and her undercover world. The film also stars Brit Marling, Ellen Page, Toby Kebbell, Shiloh Fernandez and Patricia Clarkson.
As for True Blood, Eric, Sookie, Bill and the rest of Bon Temps will return to HBO in June.
