Alex Trebek record: Host sets a Guinness World Record

Alex Trebek has set a Guinness World Record. On Saturday, People shared the news about this big record that the host of the show broke. His big record is for "most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter." He has now done 6,829 shows. It sounds like this record will be hard to beat considering that it will keep going up the way that he works.

He does plan to continue hosting for at least a few more years. Trebek also said that his record is one that can be beat, but it will honestly be shocking if anyone does that soon. He has been the host of "Jeopardy" since 1984. That is a long time to be doing the same thing so he obviously loves it.

Alex Trebek went on to say, "The good news is as long as I keep hosting the program, I stay ahead of whoever's in second place and that makes me feel good." For now he will be in the lead for a long time and it doesn't look like anyone is close to catching up with Trebek on this Guinness World Record.
