Brad Keselowski Racing enlisted the road course driving talents of Alex Tagliani for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series' lone road course race -- Sunday's Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The move paid off as early as Saturday, with Tagliani taking the pole for his Truck Series debut. He did so with a 80.558-second/109.889 mph lap in the second of two rounds of qualifying.
Tagliani will share the front row on the starting grid with Gray Gaulding. Erik Jones and German Quiroga will start in row two.
The top-three in the final round of qualifying that set the top-12 starting spots mirrored the top-three from round one, with Tagliani, Gaulding and Jones also being the three fastest drivers in the opening round of qualifying. But in round one, Matt Crafton was one position ahead of Quiroga in fourth.
Other drivers advancing to the final round and claiming the fifth through 12th starting positions for Sunday's race include Cole Custer, Andrew Ranger, Darrell Wallace Jr., Crafton, Timothy Peters, Cameron Hayley, Johnny Sauter and Ben Kennedy.
Only 28 drivers made qualifying attempts in round one, so the Chevrolet Silverado 250 will take the green flag on Sunday far shy of a full race field of 36 trucks.
