Alex Smith rumors: Smith rumors include Kansas City Chiefs, Browns and Cardinals

The Alex Smith rumors are a hot topic right now as the 2013 NFL combine continues in Indianapolis. A deal to trade the San Francisco 49ers quarterback is "effectively complete," with deals only becoming official once the new NFL year begins, according to Yahoo! Sports.

With a so called deal reportedly already in place, now the only thing left to figure out is what team is Smith headed to?

Many experts have already reported that Smith will be dealt to the Chiefs once trades are permitted beginning on March 12.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs have a strong interest in Smith, but rumors also have linked Smith to the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals. It doesn't seem like Smith would land in Cleveland, as the interest has seemed to fade, but the Cardinals may have interest in Smith as they are in need of a full time QB.

Right now it seems like Smith is going to follow in the footsteps of the 49ers all-time great Joe Montana. Montana was dealt to the Chiefs back in 1993.

New Chiefs coach Andy Reid has had plenty of experience with young quarterbacks with a "trying to prove the world wrong" mentality. This may be good for Smith and the Kansas City Chiefs, who are looking to regain it's once proud form.
