As a housewife on "The Real Housewives of New York City" for four seasons, Alex McCord has a lot of insight on how the various "Real Housewives" shows work and what really going on behind the scenes. In her latest column and video analysis for The Stir, posted on Tuesday, July 8, Alex recapped the latest episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and gave her predictions, now that the show is winding down and gearing up for the finale, on whether Shannon Beador, Tamra Barney and Lizzie Rovsek will be asked back by producers for another season.

Alex believes that Shannon will definitely be returning. She noted that Shannon and her husband, David Beador, have unresolved marital issues, which gives them a compelling storyline for the next season. She also pointed out that Vicki Gunvalson, the sole original cast member, was willing to go to Mexico with Shannon and David and help them out, which says a lot about how important the producers and Vicki think Shannon and David are to the show. Alex said that Shannon also has a tendency to not hear correctly what people tell her, which always makes for good drama.

Surprisingly, Tamra Barney's future on the show may not be as promising as Shannon's. Alex said that it's problematic that Tamra, unless something drastic happens, is ending the show with many of her co-stars not liking or at least disagreeing with her. Alex pointed out that when the other housewives don't feel safe confiding or trusting in one of the housewives, that housewife becomes an outsider and producers have to start forcing the others to film with her, something that they may not be willing to do, even for someone like Tamra who has compelling storylines on her own.

Unfortunately for Lizzie, her future looks bleak. Alex predicted that producers will not ask her back. So far in the season, Lizzie has remained drama-free and positively normal, which often translates into boring in producers' eyes.

Tamra Barney has been with "The Real Housewives of Orange County" since the third season, while both Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek are new housewives, having joined the show for the ninth season. Tamra recently tweeted that the reunion show is filming in just a few days. If Alex McCord's analysis is correct, then Tamra and Lizzie better bring the heat to guarantee their spots for the next season!
