Alec Baldwin and his reportedly pregnant wife, Hilaria Thomas have released a statement about baby rumors after they reached a feverish pitch today (Wednesday). In a statement tweeted by the actor's rep -- and then retweeted by Hilaria -- Hiltzik Strategies states:
"Our response to baby speculation over the past 18 months has remained the same. When/if Alec and Hilaria have news they want to share, they will share it. Until then, no comment."
The two-part tweet follows widespread reports, citing an In Touch magazine exclusive, claiming the "30 Rock" star and his 28-year-old wife are expecting their first baby together. The tabloid quotes what it calls a "good friend" of Hilaria's as confirming the couple's baby news. "Hilaria has told only really close friends and family she is pregnant, only a close circle she trusts,” the source dished. "(Hilaria) has not said much to anyone as far as how far along she is. She is so healthy and a yoga freak, so everyone could tell right away something was different.”
Baldwin has made it no secret the couple would like to have a baby. He joked extensively about his plans to become a stay-at-home dad during a June interview with Wonderwall. "I want to have a baby and stay home and make the pancakes before I send my wife out to work every day to pay the bills," the 54 year old said.
Alec Baldwin is already father to 17-year-old Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger. If Hilaria Thomas is pregnant, this would be her first baby.
