Alec Baldwin and Hilaria welcomed a baby girl at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. NBC News reports on Aug. 23 that the couple has named the child Carmen Gabriela. Although she has not shared a photo of the newborn, Hilaria posted the name on her official Twitter account.
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin rushed to the hospital on Friday, and Hilaria posted the birth announcement in the evening. She shared that her daughter was “absolutely perfect” and revealed the couple named her Carmen Gabriela. This is Hilaria’s first child with Baldwin.
Ireland Baldwin also shared the news on Twitter and mentioned “Welcome to the world, Carmen!” She pointed out that they were born on the same day of the month. Ireland put together a long letter to her new sister on Tumblr. Her post covered everything from school to boys and was filled with advice. She also wished for Carmen to inherit a math gene because it skipped her. The big sister added, “You have parents who are in the public eye. A lot of people are going to want to be your friend because of it.” Ireland warned Carmen she has been born into a crazy family, but she promised to stand by her.
The sage advice from Alec Baldwin’s 17-year-old may be a bit premature for the newborn. However, it is clear that Ireland is grateful for her baby sister and wants to protect her from the harsh realities of the world. Even Ireland admits her Tumblr list may need more time before Carmen finds it useful.
