Jason Aldean likes to change things up a bit occasionally. The Georgia native decided it was time to take a little different route with the single he recently released.
“I don’t want to feel like we keep doing the same thing,” he told The Tennessean.
The single he chose to release was written by some prominent country music songwriters. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line co-wrote “Burnin’ It Down” with Chris Tompkins and Rodney Clawson. These four talented men were able to come up with song that Aldean fell in love with instantly.
Regarding recording a song that isn’t his typical style, Aldean said "I think sometimes you're fortunate enough to find really cool songs that allow you to do that, and I think the first single really is that song that sets the tone for everything else. It's a new album, a new sound and ('Burnin' It Down' says) this is a whole new thing coming out." He added, “I think it’s one of those things people don’t expect to hear from us, which I like to throw those songs in every now and then.”
Recently, in front of a large crowd at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, OH, he described the song like this: A dude that was, you know, just having fun naked in the bed making out with this chick listening to “Dixieland Delight” and drinking whiskey.
The last comment about an Alabama song is what was the cherry on top for the singer. The decision was made when he heard those lyrics referencing one of his favorite bands.
The Georgia native also released a sexy little lyric video to coincide with the single. The song was released on July 22 and the album will be released prior to the end of this year.
