ALCS schedule 2013 news has the Detroit Tigers clinching a chance to play the Boston Red Sox. The 2013 ALCS schedule officially gets started on Oct. 12, with Game 1 taking place at Fenway Park. Boston had already clinched the chance to host the first two games, but it wasn't until Thursday night (Oct. 10) that Detroit finally put away the Oakland Athletics in Game 5 of the ALDS.
Game 1 will take place at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday (Oct. 12), with FOX providing the coverage. Game 2 is also in Fenway, with the exact same start time on Sunday (Oct. 13). For Game 3, the teams will travel to Detroit to play on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at 4 p.m. ET. Game 4 is on Wednesday (Oct. 16) at 8 p.m. ET and Game 5 is on Thursday (Oct 17) at 8 p.m. ET with both games also taking place in Detroit.
Should they become necessary, Game 6 will be in Boston on Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m. ET and Game 7 will also be in Boston on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET. FOX has complete coverage of the series, giving the network a lot of primetime material over the next two weeks. That might frustrate typical viewers of the network, though, especially because it will preempt some new shows.
It's intriguing that the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox are back playing for the league title and that there is very little delay between the end of the ALDS and the beginning of the ALCS schedule 2013.
