Alcohol-Free St Patrick's Day alternatives in Tuscaloosa

Some might find it difficult to celebrate St. Paddy's Day tomorrow since Sunday alcohol sales are only allowed between noon and 9:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa. But if you forget to stock your home bar before Sunday I recommend attending The Children's Hands on Museum's (CHOM) 7th annual Duck Derby at the University of Alabama's Outdoor pool.

The money raised at the Duck Derby is used to provide programs for children, families and their Teen Leadership program.

'The races are completed in five heats of 600 ducks each. Heat prizes are awarded and the top ducks from these heats go on to compete in the final, 6th, race for the prize money,' said CHOM employee Exa Johnston.

A Best Dressed Duckling Contest will also take place for the kids.

The races begin at 2 p.m..

Tickets are $5

First Place: $2,000

Second Place: $1,000

Third Place: $500

Plus a chance to win $100,000!
