'Alcatraz' fails to win cinematography award

On Sunday, the 27th annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards was held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

David Stockton whose Alcatraz "Pilot" was up for Outstanding Achievement in the the One Hour Episodic Television Series category, lost via a tie between Balazs Bolygo (Hunted) and Kramer Morgenthau (Game of Thrones).

This was Stockon's third nomination. He previously won an ASC award in 2009 for Eleventh Hour.

Alcatraz was cancelled last May amid falling viewership and ratings.
