Come out to the Deep Ellum Brewing Company this Saturday afternoon, June 21, from noon until 3 p.m.to celebrate the release of Justin Pickard's new album, "A High Price For The Low Life". This event, hosted by Brett Dillon and KHYI (The Range), will give you the opportunity to meet the very talented local musician, Justin Pickard, and see him perform live with a full band. Once you see Justin on stage, I am sure that you will be a life-long fan, just as I am. He is Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Johnny Lang, all rolled into one awesome musician with his own charismatic flare. His music is in a category all of it's own. His songs are the kind that you sometimes wake up with running through your head, then you hear them again and again throughout the day.
In 2010, LIT magazine proclaimed Sidekick Mafia (Justin's original band) to be the the best band that the metroplex has ever spawned, and their newly released CD some of the best new music released nationwide. Justin's new album surpasses his first; there is an added depth, maturity, and smooth professionalism. It does compare equally to the first in one sense - it is the most fun, uplifting music to listen to that you can find - no cry in your beer stuff here!
All songs on "A High Price For The Low Life" were recorded and mixed live to 2-track reel-to-reel tape by Andrew Delaney in Garland, Texas and at Universal Rehearsal in Dallas, Texas, with an emphasis on the use of vintage instruments and gear. The album consists of ten songs:
Don't Tell Me Lies
Wine & Roses
I Want To Be Your Man
Twisting and Turning
"A High Price For The Low Life" will be available for purchase at Saturday's event. With purchase of an album, you will also receive a free CD.
The Deep Ellum Brewing Company is located at 2823 St. Louis St. See the map and get driving directions here.
Getting the party started Saturday will be Andrew Delaney and The Horse You Rode In On. Get there early so you can have a few beers and enjoy both bands. See you there!
