Albert Pyun triple-feature and premiere comes Saturday to the Chicago west side

For us west side Chicago film fans, we sure don't get the kind of special film events that downtown does. We have to settle for commutes and Fathom Events in the suburbs. This weekend, one is coming our way.

Toys, gaming, and entertainment company Galactic Force (website) is bringing a "Triple Threat" event to celebrate film director Albert Pyun, of Cyborg fame. It's being held on the west side of Chicago at the historic Patio Theater (website) located at 6008 West Irving Park Road in the Portage Park neighborhood on Saturday, March 9th. Come out and enjoy the fun!

Starting at 7:00pm and running until midnight, the event features famed-director Albert Pyun, where he will showcase the Chicago premiere of his award-winning new film, Road to Hell, the follow up to Streets of Fire. Genre fans rejoice! Mr. Pyun will follow that premiere up with screenings of a director’s cut of Cyborg starring Jean Claude Van Damme and 1992's sci-fi thriller Nemesis.

This one-night only event will include a special appearance by film director Albert Pyun himself. Coming with him will be writer and producer Cynthia Curnan, film editor Rozanne Zingale, and actress Dru-Anne Perry. They will hold fan Q&A sessions between films. As icing in the cake, Albert will be signing autographs and selling directors cuts of several of his hits, along with other merchandises such as posters (including those made by local Chicago artist Neil Klemz for Road to Hell), DVDs, Blu-ray copies, and soundtrack albums.

As you can see, this Patio Theater event is more than just a screening. It's a celebration of a film career spanning over 30 years and 47 films and counting. For fans and aspiring filmmakers, Albert Pyun will be providing unprecedented access and providing insight on the creation of some of his most memorable and infamous films. One more time, this event is on Saturday, March 9th at the Patio Theater on Irving Park Road. Enjoy the night!
