Albert Einstein Academy Info Meeting for 2014-2015 school year

On May 8th, 2014, Albert Einstein Academy Home Study Charter held an information meeting to discuss their second year of being a charter with a home study component in the Fall semester. The leadership of the school had an informative Powerpoint presentation to inform attendees of general information about the Einstein Academy's educational and teaching philosophies and then spoke in detail about the home study portion of their program.

The new program director, Kristy Robinson, was introduced and so were the educational facilitators that will be working with homeschool families. Some visiting vendors also got a chance to introduce themselves, since families are able to spend their educational funds at approved vendors.

One of the great benefits of the program is that homeschooled students are invited to participate in sports in middle school grades at the Kelly Johnson Parkway location with the site based students and through Vasquez High School if they're in high school. Home Study families also get to be part of field trips and other social events. The educational facilitators also will offer some free classes to the home study students and a lot of these classes will be thematic unit studies in the Fall to coincide with the school's philosophy of inter-disciplinary curriculum. Students will also be required to fulfill some volunteer hours, like the site-based students.

The meeting closed with some cookies and coffee and exciting news that, since they are expanding their program in this new school year, they have a lot of openings if anyone is looking for a local homeschool charter school.
