The Albany Vegetarian Network is hosting a contest that starts today to look for nonprofessional male and female models for their first ever cruelty-free fashion show to take place during the NY Capital Region Vegetarian Expo Saturday, October 2nd at the Empire State Plaza.

"We want to show that the veg lifestyle extends beyond daily food choices.  Introducing a vegan fashion show at this year's Expo will demonstrate how cruelty-free clothing is not only accessible but fashionable, sexy and affordable for both men and women," says the groups Volunteer Events and Marketing coordinator, Kristin Lajeunesse.

The models will be selected by industry professionals including Chloe Jo Davis: activist, writer, online personality, Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart: Founder and Creative Director of Vaute Coutre, Julie Dicterow: designer for Cri de Coeur and Gina Ferraraccio: Founder and designer for Cri de Coeur.

Selected models will receive a gift basket full of goodies and a chance to model some of the most revered vegan clothing and accessories of this year, including shirts and outerwear from Vaute Coutre, women's shoes from Cri de Coeur and handbags from Cherry Berry.

Now in it's 4th year, the NY's Capital Region Vegetarian Expo, the only one of it's kind in the Albany area, is free to the public and features presentations by nationally known industry professionals, educational exhibits, food samples, and book signings, among other activities.

I hope Saturday Night Live gets wind of this. Should make for a hilarious show. Vegans on the cat walk. No wonder it's the "only one of it's kind in the Albany area". There must be at least twenty vegetarians in the Tri Cities. Should make for a big dollar event ! Go to vegansaurus.com - Be sure to click on that bryan guy's link. It will be worth going just to see what this pervert is going to pull. What a loser !
