100,000 blooming tulips, slightly more than one for every visitor expected, grace the 66th annual Albany Tulip Festival this weekend. Saturday, May 10, of Mother’s Day weekend, and Sunday May 11, in Washington Park, Albany, you can mingle with tens of thousands of people for two days of scheduled Tulip Festival events.

There will be craft and fine arts shows, vendors of all stripes, non-stop musical entertainment and judging for Tulip Queen and Best Mom, as well as a Tulip Luncheon and a Tulip Ball. It all begins on Friday with the Dutch tradition of washing the streets before the festivities. Through it all will be those 100,000 tulips in bloom for a colorful and fun family event.

Come celebrate our Dutch heritage in Albany this weekend. Admission is free, but there are fees for the luncheon and the ball, and for purchases from the vendors. Free shuttle buses between the festival and the Park & Ride locations will be running both afternoons. For more information visit the Tulip Festival website.
