Alba and Trejo battle in latest “Machete” clip
With “Machete” slashing its way into theaters this Friday, we’ve been seeing a lot of clips and stills from the film’s final cut. This latest clip has Danny Trejo battling with Jessica Alba. The Robert Rodriquez film is loaded with an incredible cast including Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson, Jeff Fahey, Elise Avellan, Electra Avellan, and Tom Savini.

Danny Trejo plays Machete, a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, and who is eventually double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.

The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

My DVD recommendation for today is “From Dusk til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money” (1999). Five criminals get together to rob a bank in Mexico. On his way to their rendezvous point, one of them gets into an accident, and stumbles upon the Titty Twister Bar. This little detour sets up the terror that awaits the outlaws and the officers on their trail. Enjoy.
