Alaska's Sarah Palin out at Fox News

Sarah Palin is out at Fox News, according to a statement from the network on Friday. Real Clear Politics shared the details on Jan. 25 about the former Alaska governor ending her relationship with the conservative network.

Sources indicate that Sarah Palin opted out of her relationship with Fox News, despite the fact they had offered her a contract renewal. The Fox News statement, however, did not indicate which side made the decision to end the relationship. Palin has worked with Fox since January 2010, though many would say there had been signs for some time that a split was on the horizon. This especially seemed the case after after Fox edged her out of the coverage of the Republican National Convention last August.

It is said that Sarah Palin earned at least $1 million during her time with the network. Of course her fans know she's always had many irons in the fire and her relationship with Fox News was just one of them.. There is no word yet whether Palin may be pursuing a contract with one of the other news networks or has her eyes set on another project. Though Palin tends to be quite chatty when it comes to her Twitter page, so far there is no confirmation or mention of this development.

Are you surprised to hear that Sarah Palin is out at Fox News? Do you believe that it was her decision to move on, or do you think there's more to this split?
