Carl Henry Jr., 42, of Kotzebue faces two felony counts of animal cruelty and criminal mischief for shooting a relative's four sled dogs while he was drunk reported the Alaskapublic.org.

On April 9, Henry visited a family member at his cabin and entered into an argument and left.

When the owner went out to feed his dogs, four of the dogs were missing and there was blood on the ground.

A witness told Alaska State Troopers that the intoxicated Henry shot his gun into the air to scare the dogs in order to stop them from barking. When that didn't work, Henry shot them.

He allegedly removed the dogs from the area with his snowmobile. Their bodies have not been recovered, but are assumed dead.

Henry is currently being held in jail in lieu of bail. A hearing has been set for May.

Rest in peace dogs.
