My only problem with Alaska Airlines inaugurating round-trip service between Seattle and New Orleans is when to go -- autumn or spring? For some reason, NOLA has eluded me, and it's been my top gotta-go-there city in the US for too many years.
I blame the lack of direct flights from the Emerald City to The Big Easy, but that all changed this week. Inaugural daily roundtrip service started the morning of June 12, departing Seattle at 10:15 AM (arriving in New Orleans at 5PM) and departing New Orleans at 5:55PM and arriving in Seattle at 8:50PM.
Famous for its food, festivals, arts, music and rich cultural heritage, New Orleans is often referred to as the "most unique" city in America. Alaska Airlines is the only carrier offering nonstop service between Seattle and New Orleans. Other new daily service offered by Alaska Airlines from Seattle includes:
- Seattle - Tampa | June 20
- Seattle - Baltimore | September 2
- Seattle - Detroit | September 4
- Seattle - Albuquerque | September 18
- Seattle - Cancun | November 6 (pending government approval)
