If you're hankerin' for a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich in the City of Brotherly Love, Alaska Airlines launches new daily nonstop service between Seattle and Philadelphia on June 11, 2012. The direct flights leave Seattle daily at 8:35 AM and arrive at 4:55 PM in Philadelphia. Flying west, departure from Philadelphia is at 5:55 PM with arrival in Seattle at 9:10 PM.
Alaska Airlines is also switching its daily flights from Seattle-Miami to Seattle-Fort Lauderdale. The reason for switching airports, which are 27 miles apart, is that the Fort Lauderdale airport is less expensive for the airline, meaning the continuation of low fares to the same geographic area.
Direct flights to Fort Lauderdale leave Seattle at 10:10 PM, arriving at 6:55 AM the next morning. On the return flight, departures are at 8:10 AM from Fort Lauderdale with an arrival time in Seattle of 11:25 AM.
Both flights will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
NEW MARKET INTRODUCTORY FARES
To celebrate the two new markets that Alaska Airlines is serving, they're offering introductory fares starting from $190 each way between Seattle and Philadelphia and $170 between Seattle and Fort Lauderdale. Fares include all taxes and fees. Tickets must be purchased by February 13, 2012 and be used for travel through July 11 for Philadelphia and August 19 for Fort Lauderdale. Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members may earn double miles between Seattle and Philadelphia through August 6 and Seattle and Fort Lauderdale through September 11, 2012.
